“Basil, wait!” Saja called after him.
He turned, and was greeted by the sight of Saja completely naked, apart from bright pink panties. She was truly beautiful. “Yes, Saja?”
“Don’t go.”
Before Basil could reply, Saja had her arms around his neck and was kissing him deeply. Basil scooped her up and took her to the bed, placing her down gently.
Kissing his way slowly down her body, “I’ve waited so long for this,” he told her as he lightly tugged at her soft nipples. At Saja’s moan of pleasure, he continued to kiss his way down her body, his fingers tracing every inch of her body. He had waited so long, and he was going to enjoy every moment. Lifting her hips, he drew her panties off and tossed them off the side of the bed.
Lifting her legs, he kissed her feet before working his way back up. As he reached the inside of her thighs, he soft nipped her before placing small kisses as he continued to work his way up. Saja let out a groan, as he rubbed her hips before lifting her to his eager mouth. She writhed beneath him as he tightened his grip and increased the intensity. Licking up her slit, he quickly found her clit and whirled his tongue around it as Saja bucked against him. Is this what I’ve been missing? she questioned herself.
Saja felt paralysed with pleasure. She could only lay there and groan, as he touched her in places she had never been touched before. Her insides were dancing around as Saja could feel pressure gradually building inside her. Sliding one finger gently inside her, he pumped it slowly in and out, as Saja rocked her hips along with him. Satisfied that she was ready, he positioned himself in front of her.
“Look at me, betrothed,” he said. His voice had grown husky, as he waited for Saja to look at him. Adjusting her hips, he wrapped her legs around his waist as he leaned forward. Kissing her, he slowly plundered her mouth as he entered her. When he felt a barrier, he wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight as he pushed forward. Saja opened her eyes at the flash of pain, but it was gone just as fast as it had come. Smiling down at her, he kissed her and he began to move in and out, slowly building a rhythm. As her body adjusted to his size, Saja felt the pressure inside her building to intensity again. Tightening her legs around him, she encouraged him to move faster. “Don’t stop!”
Saja’s heart was beating faster and faster. She felt the tension deep in her body continue to build. Her toes curled and she held onto his strong, thick arms. She could not take it any longer as pleasure rocked her body. As she cried out his name, she arched against him, as she tightened around him. Continuing to stroke in and out, he tried to hold out longer, but her clenching was too much and he quickly reached his release as his body shuddered. He collapsed next to her, wrapping his arm around her waist.

It was time for the finalisation of the treaty. Prince Al-Qadir met up with the other sheiks at their previous location. They spoke about their terms before they signed the final document. The Prince chose to cut El-Tamar out of the agreement and ordered him to relinquish the last of his properties to cover the embezzlement.
“That is too much your highness,” El-Tamar said. He realised he was about to lose the last of what he had.
“You are lucky I am not taking you on as servant,” The Prince replied. He was furious with him. He wanted to punish him for lying to him, stealing from him and most of all for treating Saja as if she was a piece of property that he could trade whenever he pleased.
“Have mercy on me.”
“You should have thought about that from the beginning.”
The other sheiks whispered amongst themselves. They were unaware of El-Tamar's illegal activities. Most of them had respected him. They had seen him as a man of integrity. Now his legacy was turning into shame all because of his recent stupid mistakes.
“I will also strip you of your title as a Sheik,” the Prince said to him. El-Tamar's face turned red. His life was truly over. He dropped to his knees and wept. There weren’t any other options. He could not get himself out of this situation. He could not even ask Saja to help him. She hated him.
The Prince walked out of the tent and headed back home. Badir quizzed him about his decision regarding El-Tamar all the way home. Badir thought that stripping him of his title was excessive.
“The man deserved all that came to him,” Basil replied. He felt justified in his actions.
“Your decision seemed to be influenced by your growing fondness for Miss Saja,” Badir replied.
“Fondness.” Basil laughed sardonically. “You think my judgement is affected? My feelings or lack of them have not changed from the first day I met her,” he added.
“If you say so.” Badir said with a smile.
“I do say so.”
Basil was sure that he had not changed. He was sure he still found her annoying, rude, ill-mannered and challenging. Yet, he couldn’t keep her out of his mind. And his body was definitely attracted to her. When he returned home and saw her, he immediately felt the need to tell her what was happening with El-Tamar. She was sitting in her living room watching something completely non-educational. He decided to ignore it and speak to her. He sat down next to her. She turned to look at him with her eyebrows raised.
“What?” she asked. She was wondering why he was sitting next to her.
“I need to seek your forgiveness,” he said.
“This should be good,” she said and faced him completely. He told her everything about El-Tamar and the punishments he had issued him. Saja narrowed her gaze. She was under the impression that he was going to apologise for keeping her there against her will and insulting her every chance he had. Okay, so maybe he didn’t insult her all the time, but some of the things he said were insults and sometimes she simply felt insulted. Nevertheless, she was impressed that he was still apologising for this. Even though he did not need to.
“You do not need to apologise to me,” Saja said and held his face in her palm.
“He is still your father. It's the right thing to do,” Basil said.
“Well, he had it coming, so he must deal it. And he is NOT my father,” Saja stated. Basil smiled. She never changed her opinions on anything. She was strong-willed and determined. To his surprise, Saja started laughing.
“What is amusing?” he asked her.
“Isn't it ironic? He never wanted to have anything to do with my mother and me because he did not want us to ruin his legacy. It was not good for his name or his status. Now he ruined himself with his own hands and the help of his legitimate son!” Saja shook her head. This was Karma. It had come back to bite him in the behind.
“He dug his own grave,” Basil said and shook his head.
Chapter 14
Saja held onto the covers for dear life. Despite Saja’s protests, Mona continued to pull them away from her. “Please wake up,” Mona pleaded with her.
“What for?” Saja asked. She squinted at the clock on her bedside table. 8.50am. This better be good.
“The sheikh is waiting for you”
Saja paused, “Why?”
“To take you riding.”
Riding? Riding what? Saja groaned and finally rolled out of bed. She muttered complaints under her breath as she entered the bathroom. Still half asleep, she washed her face, brushed her teeth, and then headed back into her bedroom to dress.
Mona had laid out riding clothes for her, already tailor made to fit her. Basil had thought of everything. She quickly got dressed and went out to meet the sheikh. He was already waiting at the horse stables for her.
He watched Saja walking towards him, an easy smile spreading across his face when he saw the expression on hers. “Why are you taking me riding at this early hour?” she asked him.
“It is 9am, that is not too early,” he replied calmly. One of the ranch men strode out with a horse. It was already saddled up with a basket attached to the saddle.
“Nine is way too early” Saja complained.
“Get on,” Basil said to Saja. She raised her eyebrows.
&n
bsp; “What?” Saja said nervously. She’d never been on a horse before.
“We are going riding,” Basil held her waist and lifted her up with ease, dropping her onto the horse. He’s so strong. She sat on the horse and made herself comfortable. Her eyes flew open when Basil got on behind her.
“What are you doing?” she asked him. Every time he was this close to her, she felt nervous. Butterflies would explode in her stomach and her body would start reacting to him before he even touched her. Ever since their night together, she longed to feel his strong arms hold her.
“I am not going to let you ride alone. You might fall off, my love.” Basil held onto the reigns. The horse started trotting. Saja's body was pressed up against Basil's chest. She was just grateful they were not facing each other, she may not be able to resist the sight of his dark, broody eyes. The discomfort grew as they started galloping. They started going faster and faster. The wind blew threw her curly hair. Everything felt right.
They galloped out of his estate and off into the distance. She wondered where they were going and why. As they rode, Saja's body swayed from side to side. Basil was trying to remain focused on riding but it was difficult with her body rubbing against his. Her scent danced around his nose. He cleared his throat and rode even faster in an attempt to distract himself from the beauty between his legs.
Finally they reached the top of the hill. He brought the horse to a sudden halt. Basil dismounted and helped Saja down.
She walked towards the edge of the hill and looked at the view. “Wow, it’s beautiful.” She could see other buildings and fields.
“We are just in time for the sunrise” Basil said as he approached her with the basket. He placed it down on the grass and opened it. He took out a blanket and spread it. Saja was just watching him with her eyebrows creased. She was seeing a whole new Basil before her.
“Sit with me,” he said to her.
“You brought me here to see the sunrise?” She asked him.
“Yes. Riding in the morning really clears my mind,” Basil looked into the distance and watched the sunrise. Saja watched him for a moment, noticing a calmness spread over his usually stern features. She turned her head and took in the sunrise. Despite being here several weeks, she had never been up to see a sunrise in Quabeca before. In fact, whether by her own choice or not, she hadn’t really seen any of the beauty that Quabeca had to offer.
“It's beautiful,” she said.
Basil smiled, “I knew you would like it.”
“Did you?” She creased her eyebrows.
“Yes. Beauty appreciates other beauty.”
Saja laughed. “Basil, you do strike me as a man who knows what women want.”
Basil was silent. He reached into the basket and brought out a large lunchbox. He opened it and put it between him and Saja. She smiled to herself. Just last week they had spent all their time together arguing. Now, things had changed – for both of them.
The two of them ate and watched the sunrise. The breeze was warm and refreshing. “Quabeca has so many beautiful attributes,” he said to her.
“Shame I have never gotten the opportunity to see them.” Saja said.
“You can still do”
“Hmmm.” Was he asking her to stay or was he going to take her somewhere? She turned to look at him and found his dark, penetrating eyes already looking at her. He had such an intense stare on his face. It immediately made her nervous. She ran her hand through her hair, but before she could ask him why he was looking at her, he was leaning closer to her. She found herself leaning closer to him also.
“Come here, my Saja.” Their lips touched. He touched her face as he kissed her. He lowered his hand and caressed her neck. He held her waist and pulled her closer to him, enjoying the touch of her body. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him softly. He caressed her back and carried on kissing her.

Later that night, Saja slipped into a pencil sleeveless red dress. It was not traditional nor was it what Basil recommended but she did not care. She thought it was quite alluring and wanted to dress up for him. She had had such a good day with him and wanted to end it on a good note.
Mona had informed her that they were dining in his quarters. As she made her way to his rooms, Saja thought of all the meals they’d shared together. Before she used to hate eating with Basil, but now she couldn’t think of any other place she’d rather be.
That all came to an end when she arrived at his rooms. Her legs refused to go any futher when she saw him in the dining room with nothing but a towel on. She glanced at Mona and Amber but both had their eyes fixed on the floor. His maid was standing stone faced, trying to avoid looking at Basil’s muscular torso.
“I see you are wearing a dress today,” Basil said to her, trying desperately to keep a straight face. He studied her from top to bottom. He liked what he saw.
“And you are undressed,” Saja replied. She blinked a couple of times. His chest was so ripped, it was distracting.
“You are always missing clothes, I thought you should get a taste of your own medicin-” Before he finished speaking, she cut him off.
“No I am not!” She protested. He tilted his head to the side and looked at her. She had such energy and passion about her. He strode across the room in a few quick steps.
He placed his hands on her flat belly and caressed it. The maids quickly took this as a sign to exit the room. “What are you doing?” She whispered.
All he had done was caress her belly and she was already feeling aroused. Her mind wandered back to the night before. Those magic hands. He pressed a small kiss on her lips.
Saja touched his strong bare chest. He watched her touching him. This beautiful hurricane came into my life and destroyed my idea of a wife- he thought to himself. He was glad she did so. She was one of a kind. He caressed her face and searched her eyes.
“From this moment, you are mine forever, not as a prisoner but as my wife” he said to her and kissed her softly.

Saja was brushing her teeth when Basil walked into the bathroom and switched on the shower. He stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist as he kissed the top of her head. It had been two weeks since they were married and it was finally time to show their faces. People were starting to worry. He was still the Prince and had plenty of work to do. He could not take more than a week off for their honeymoon and he hoped that Saja wasn’t too disappointed.
“Come and bathe me, woman,” Basil commanded, as he unwrapped his towel and dropped it to the floor.
“You can wash yourself,” Saja replied. What was his obsession with her washing him? Before they were married, he always demanded that he bathe her, something she always refused. She rinsed her mouth with mouthwash. Just as she was about to escape, Basil grabbed her and yanked her towel free. “Oh my gosh!” Saja cried out. Basil carried her into the shower.
