As they drove into the parking lot, both Jared and Drake looked around. On a rainy day like this, there were few vehicles in the parking lot. A couple vans, some trucks with loaded trailers and a few smaller cars interspersed throughout. As they rolled to a stop, Drake jumped out. “I’ll check in with security,” he called out as he jogged toward a dark building.
As Jared jumped out, he had an idea. He grabbed Casey’s leash. He didn’t have much to go on, but maybe Casey could help. Giving the dog a quick head rub, he looked at her. “I need you to find your momma.” As if Casey understood, she began walking around the parking lot sniffing at the vehicles. For the most part, Casey would give it a quick sniff before moving on. When they got to the second van, Casey spent considerable time sniffing the back door. As Jared became hopeful, he looked down. Bending, he picked up a crumpled piece of duct tape. At Casey’s growl, Jared spun around. A man was walking toward them with his arms raised slightly. Catching sight of his left arm, Jared saw a new bandage. As his eyes narrowed at him, the man stopped.
“I can’t tell you exactly where they’re headed, but it’s toward the Channel Islands.” Looking over his shoulder, he saw Drake leave security with a short, round man in uniform. As Drake waved to Jared to come quickly, the assailant slowly lowered his hands.
“Why are you helping me?” asked Jared.
“Can’t seem to get the look on her face out of my head. Probably should have stopped all this, but money is money. Don’t usually have reactions like this.” Shrugging his shoulders, the assailant pointed toward Drake and the security guard. “Better hurry, he has at least 30 minutes on you AND, he knows where he’s going.”
As Jared swore under his breath, he abandoned his desire to crack the man’s skull open and tugged Casey toward Drake. Time was their enemy and they had to hurry.
Chapter 6
Rita had no idea how long they traveled. The thrum of the yacht engine helped take her mind off the growing agony in her hands and feet. The creep of circulation loss was moving up her legs and arms and she was growing cold. The yacht stopped accelerating and seemed to be in idle before slowly moving forward and then stopping. Rita flinched as she heard Tucker’s whistle heading toward her. Oh, how she hated that song now. Since her first year of marriage to Tucker, what used to be a fun tune rapidly turned into one that became the precursor to fear and pain.
“And how are those hands and feet feeling, lovely Rita,” asked Tucker as he cruelly squeezed her arm.
Completely unprepared, Rita squealed behind her gag. “Oh, how I missed the sound of your cries and you did so love screaming for me, didn’t you, Rita,” he asked as he dug his fingers in her other arm. As Rita screamed into the gag, her nose began to run and she started panting. “Now, now. Mustn’t be overworked so soon. I’m not ready for you yet.” As Tucker left the cabin, Rita closed her eyes and took several shallow breaths. She counted the length of her breaths until gradually; she was able to breathe better. Having been on the receiving end of Tucker’s wrath on more than one occasion, she was terrified. Normally, he was prone to wild rages that eventually burned themselves out. But this Tucker was cold, calculated, dangerous. Rita wondered what happened to his lawyer. Did he kill her? Despite everything that Tucker had ever done, she didn’t believe him capable of murder, but now he was different.
Tucker came back in carrying a black bag. Dropping it in front of her with a thud, he proceeded to ignore her while he opened the bag and sifted through the contents. Soon, he was laying out assorted tools…knives, clamps, pliers, screwdrivers. He pulled out what looked to be a spiked choke chain and held it up for Rita to see. I had planned to use this on that damn dog, but since she isn’t here, you will have to fill in for her too. Reaching up, he placed the chain around her neck and tugged it until it was snug. As he did so, a pulse point popped up on Rita’s neck and Tucker became temporarily mesmerized watching it speed up. He played with Rita tightening the collar and gradually loosening it, while watching her pulse speed up each time. As Rita tried desperately to get her heart rate under control, she knew that there was no way she was going to be impassive to any of Tucker’s plans for her. She was too terrified and it was growing worse. Rita jumped when she heard Tucker test a Taser. Turning frightened eyes on him, Tucker smiled gleefully as he clicked the Taser on and off, watching as she jumped each time.
Holding the Taser in one hand, he reached for a knife and began cutting her clothes off. Making no attempt to be careful, he nicked Rita several times, as he shredded her clothes. Satisfied with his work, he reached up and yanked the remains of her t-shirt, bra and pants off. Pausing, he saw that she was bleeding in several places. Reaching up with his hand, he flicked each wound with his nail, opening them up a little further as Rita squirmed and screamed behind her gag. Reaching for her mouth, he caught a corner of the duct tape and ripped it from her mouth, taking skin as he yanked. Rita rewarded him for his actions as she screamed. Yanking the rag out of her mouth, he patted the side of her face.
“Don’t go anywhere, I’ll be right back.” He laughed at his own joke as he went to rummage on the other side of the cabin.
He came back quickly with a first aid kit and set it down. Opening it up, he looked through it as he mumbled to himself, “Can’t have her bleeding too much too soon. Aha!” Tucker pulled a brown bottle from the first aid kit. Brandishing it about, he quickly opened it and proceeded to splash hydrogen peroxide on Rita’s cuts. As she flinched and hissed, he chuckled. “I love it when you try to defy me by being quiet.” Slapping her face, he smiled, “That will change soon enough.”
Reaching for the knife, Tucker, cut the ropes binding Rita’s ankles and wrists. She made small noises at the shift in circulation. She’d been tied up so long; she couldn’t pull her arms from behind the chair and had to let gravity slowly bring them down and to the sides. She carefully dragged her feet forward in an attempt to change position as Tucker stood above her. “Get up,” he growled at her.
“I can’t!” Rita shot back hoarsely, “and you well know it.”
“I said, GET UP!” Roared Tucker as he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her to a standing position. As Rita’s nerves came alive, she cried out as her legs buckled. Unable to protect herself, Rita went crashing to the floor as Tucker shoved her down. Rita hit the floor hard, smacking her head and her shoulder. “Get up,” Tucker said again. Rita tried to drag her arms around front, but the shift from numbness to pain was moving rapidly and Rita whimpered as she tried to get her body to comply with his demands. Reaching down, Tucker grabbed Rita by the hair and dragged her into a kneeling position. Stepping forward, he unzipped his trousers as his cock sprang free. The recent events had turned him on and he was more than ready for Rita to resume her wifely duties. Holding her hair in a painful grip, he tugged her head in his direction. “Do it the way I like it and maybe you get to keep all your body parts.” At Rita’s gasp, Tucker shoved his cock in her mouth, choking her as he deep-throated her. As tears sprang to her eyes, Rita attempted to accommodate Tucker’s girth. Normally, he was easy as he generally didn’t get that hard, but for some reason, he was rock-hard and Rita was trying to keep from throwing up each time Tucker triggered her gag reflex. Giving up, Tucker yanked her off him and shoved her back to the floor. “You are useless, as always,” he screamed at her as he dragged his pants back up. “Perhaps you need some instruction.” Grabbing her, he dragged her across the floor as Rita tried desperately to get her knees beneath her. As he got to the stairs that went down to the sleeping quarters, he reached for the hatch and shoved her down the stairs. Unable to stop herself, Rita crashed down the steps and landed hard at the bottom. Tucker followed behind her and he grabbed her hair again, pulling her to her knees. As Rita looked up, she saw another woman hanging by her wrists. Her head was hanging and Rita couldn’t tell if she was alive.
“I know what you’re thinking,” said Tucker. “She’s still alive. Look, I’ll show you.” Pulling the Taser from his pocket, Tucker
pressed it to the side of the woman hanging there. As she bounced to life, she screamed long and hard. Smiling evilly at both women, “See, told you.” As the woman continued to scream, Tucker backhanded her. “Can’t you ever shut up? It’s apparent that you both have much to learn from each other. Rita needs to learn to suck cock and you need to learn when to scream.” Rubbing his hands together gleefully, “Now let’s get started, shall we?” Tucker walked to the wall and reached for a rope. Loosening it, he triggered the pulley on the ceiling as the woman was lowered to the floor. Grabbing her by the chin, he turned her head so she would look at Rita.
“Rita, meet my lawyer, Gretchen Hawkins. Greta, darling, this is my wife, Rita.” Turning Greta’s head back toward him, he once again dropped his trousers as he guided her head toward his erection. Greta eagerly opened her mouth and began giving him head. As Tucker put his head back in obvious enjoyment, he stepped forward, deep throating her. Some occasional grunts and snorts came from Greta’s mouth as drool dribbled down her body, but she was able to handle the assault far better than Rita ever could. As Tucker neared orgasm, he tightened his grip on her head and began to slam into her mouth as Greta made wet sucking noises. “That’s it,” he crooned. “Almost there.” As Tucker’s orgasm rolled in, he made sure that Greta’s nose was buried against his pubic bone. As she bucked in an attempt to breathe, he continued to hold her there until she swallowed all of his cum. Stepping back, he slapped her face a couple times with his flaccid cock, before turning to Rita.
“Now THAT, lovely Rita, is how you should suck cock. Now it’s your turn to teach Greta how to scream.” As Tucker stepped toward Rita, a commotion was heard upstairs and a dog barked.
Chapter 7
As Jared ran over to Drake, “Channel Islands,” he managed to blurt out as the two men looked at him.
“What?”
“We need to head in the direction of the Channel Islands. It’s where he said he was heading and he’s got more than 30 minutes on us. We have to hurry.”
“How did you find this out,” asked Drake.
Pointing over his shoulder toward the van that was leaving the driveway, Jared turned to the security guard, “How can we get a boat?”
Turning, the guard headed toward the boat rentals with Jared, Drake and Casey following behind. “I’ll get you the GPS coordinates to get you in the general direction. There’s a proximity monitor on the radar that will let you know if there are any watercraft nearby. It’s the best I can do.”
As the two men boarded the powerboat, the security guard helped them cast off. “His yacht tops out at about 18 knots. You should be able to do 22, no problem.” The two men motored slowly out of the harbor past the buoys. As they hit open water, Jared began to pick up speed as Drake plotted their course. While both men had experience on the water thanks to their time in the Navy, they weren’t experts with smaller boats. Something that both secretly hoped would not be a hindrance. The Channel Islands was at least a two-day cruise from Long Beach, and on the open water, they were hoping that the radar would help them find Rita before it was too late. Particularly since neither of them thought to pack provisions. While there were some emergency provisions on board, they hoped they wouldn’t have to break into them. At the speed they were going, assuming they had plotted a similar path, they hoped to catch sight of the other boat in less than an hour.
As they cruised in silence, Drake kept checking the radar and comparing the boats to the information they had on Tucker’s yacht. About 40 minutes later, Drake flagged Jared to slow down. Handing him the binoculars, he pointed toward 10 o’clock. “Look.” As Jared looked, he said a silent prayer of thanks. Sitting idle in the water was none other than the Lovely Rita.
“Why aren’t they moving,” he asked.
“No idea, but I’m letting the Coast Guard know.”
“Can they hear us on the radio?” He asked as he indicated the other boat.
Nodding his head, “Probably.”
“Well then wait. Let’s get closer. Keep looking for signs of life.”
As Jared shift into low, he continued toward the boat hoping they weren’t too late. Drake scanned the other boat as they got closer, but could find no signs of life. “I wonder why they stopped,” he mused aloud.
“No idea and don’t care.”
As they came in alongside, Drake reached out to tie the two boats together. As both men prepared to step on board, a loud scream was heard from below deck. Before either man could react, Casey leaped off the boat and went crashing into the cabin. Scuffling was heard followed by more screams, but this time from a man. As the men leaped on board, they ran into the cabin. Jared leaped down the steps to find Rita and another woman while a bloodied Tucker rolled around on the floor fighting off Casey. Whistling at her, Casey backed off growling as Drake pointed a gun at Tucker. Grabbing blankets off the bunk, Jared quickly covered both women. Looking at Rita, “Are you ok?” At Rita’s nod, he looked to Drake, “Got this?”
“Oh, yea.”
Jared quickly mounted the steps and went for the radio. A mayday call with GPS coordinates assured him that the Coast Guard was on its way. Before he went downstairs, he found the tools that Tucker had laid out. Grabbing cable ties, he went back downstairs.
“Coast Guard is on its way,” he said to everyone in the room. Marching toward Tucker, he grabbed the man by the arm and flipped him over on his stomach.
“Hey,” Tucker whined. “I’m injured here.”
Kneeling painfully on Tucker’s legs, Jared used the cable ties to hog tie Tucker before he turned back to Rita. Kneeling in front of her, he carefully removed the choke chain before kissing her lightly all over her face. “I was so worried,” Jared started to say, but Rita had thrown herself into his arms as she began to sob. At the same time, Drake went over to the other woman who was decidedly in worse shape.
“Are you Gretchen Hawkins,” asked Drake. At Greta’s nod, he knelt down beside her. “A great many people will be very happy to see you again.” At that, Greta dropped her head and cried quietly. “Why don’t we get these two upstairs,” said Drake as he lifted her up in his arms. Following suit, both men carefully carried the two women upstairs, leaving Tucker down below. They set them gingerly on the couch as Drake went in search of drinking water. Coming back with several bottles, he opened two and handed them to the women who drank greedily. Hugging Rita tightly to him, Jared had to fend off the advances of a worried dog as Casey pushed impatiently against him to get closer to Rita. As Rita stuck a hand out from the blanket, Casey laid her head in her lap and licked it.
As they waited for the Coast Guard, both men kept a watchful eye on the women while Tucker, who was a bit more worse for wear thanks to some well-placed kicks and punches, was locked up where they had left him. Having waited to tell their stories, both women haltingly told what happened with Greta’s story lasting considerably longer. It seems that she agreed to take an evening cruise with Tucker in celebration of his release. They’d been drinking Champagne and when she woke up, he had her tied up downstairs. That had been some 10 days ago. Poor Greta was subjected to Tucker’s anger as he let loose his sadism on her. How he managed to keep her quiet when they were in port was left for a later discussion as the Coast Guard had arrived. As they prepared to transfer to the Coast Guard vessel, they found that Tucker was nowhere to be found. A search of both boats produced no sign of him or any indication how he managed to get off the yacht.
Chapter 8
Six months had passed since Rita’s ordeal at the hands of her ex. Since that time, Jared had refused to let her out of his sight. It was making work difficult and Rita was growing frustrated, as she wanted to be able to move forward. The two had discussed moving to the corporate office in Atlanta, Georgia, prior to Rita’s abduction, but the recent chain of events and the fact that Tucker may still be at large meant that they were rethinking their next steps. Rita was understandably upset at having to leave a job that she loved. Once again, Tucker had man
aged to turn her life upside down, but this time, she had Jared’s strength to keep her going. He had been an unbelievable rock throughout all of this and Rita loved him even more than ever.
The affidavit given by Gretchen Hawkins after her ten-day ordeal would have been enough to put Tucker away for many years and Rita wasn’t sure she had told the whole story. When Rita had been discharged from the hospital, she had stopped in to see her. The woman had suffered multiple dislocated and cracked ribs, she had several fingers and toes broken and the number of deep cuts and welts to her body meant that she would forever be reminded of her ordeal at the hands of Tucker every time she looked in the mirror. Rita could well imagine what she had gone through emotionally and psychologically and she sympathized with the woman. Three months ago, Rita decided to check in on her, but was informed by her law firm that she had quit and moved with no forwarding address.
After Tucker had been declared missing and potentially lost at sea, his yacht was sold to cover the costs for his search. The remaining monies had been sent to Rita, as Tucker had declared her as his sole beneficiary. Both Jared and Rita were surprised at the dollar amount and Rita never did figure out where Tucker got the funds to pay for such an extravagant vessel considering that they lived in relative poverty throughout their entire marriage. In heated discussions with the District Attorney’s office, it was decided that Rita and Jared would go into hiding. At least temporarily and it would be far away from California. The money from the sale of the yacht was an unexpected windfall and coupled with Jared’s military retirement, the three of them could go anywhere.
